The huge Exposition Park hosts a number of festivals every year, but only one successfully molds extreme sports with music. Two days of everything the three-time Olympic Gold Medalist, Shaun White represents took place on March 3-4, at Exposition Park at the LA Coliseum.  With a diverse group of music, snowboarding and skateboarding fans attended “Air + Style Festival” to release some stress and enjoy some thrills. It was not all sunshine and rainbows in Los Angeles, yet despite inclement weather, fans still came decked out in their finest festival attire. Halldor Helgason, Dylan Alito, Darcy Sharpe, Desiree Melancon, Kyle Mack were just some of the guests who came to enjoy the two day fest, which featured musical performances by Phoenix, Zedd, Phantogram, Gucci Mane, Tinashe, Cut Copy, Mura Masa, Washed Out and others has grown exponentially from a small, under-the-radar festival to an international event with stops in Los Angeles, Sydney and Beijing. This year, fans saw 16 snowboarders competing in a street course with rails, jumps and walls on the side of the venue as well as a skateboarding competition. Sometimes you just need a smaller festival with a big punch, and “Air + Style” has been rocking it that way year-after-year, and with the backing of founder Shaun White to flaunt his gold medals around (not that the humble snowboarder ever would), this festival won’t be slowing down anytime soon.
